Gamechanger Alert! Timbaland, Screenvision, and Movie Theaters

Sometimes the best part of watching a movie in the movie theater are the previews before the movie. That 20 minutes before a movie starts is probably one of the best captive audiences that a marketer can hope for, because they actually paid to be and sit there and watch the screen.

People are there to be entertained, so why not create branded (endorsed) entertainment before the previews start instead of showing those trivia games and boring cell phone ads? Thats exactly what super producer Timbaland is doing with Screenvision.

The possibilities here are endless -> imagine branded entertainment that takes people on a journey taking advantage of all of the location based technology and whatever hot apps are on people’s phones and you can create a pretty fun and unique interactive experience leaving a very powerful brand impression.

Sometimes when I watch previews I already forget what movie I am there to watch, the goal for these guys should be to make me forget that I am even there to watch a movie. Read more at The New York Times.
